We offer peace and tranquility in a beautiful nature setting. There are only 3 cottages on the farm that sleep 16 in total. All our cottages are tastefully furnished, and equipped with all that is needed for a holiday breakaway in the bush – and a mere 2,5 hr drive from Gauteng

Firefly is a spacious free standing wooden cottage within 40m of the Groot Marico River. It can accommodate 4 guests (with the possibility of a further 2 children under the age of 12 yrs but then parents need to provide their own mattresses and bedding). The main bedroom is private with a double bed and en suite bathroom (shower only) and there is a wall mounted fan. The second bedroom is private and has 2 single beds and a wall mounted fan. There is a separate 2^nd bathroom (shower only). The spacious open plan area has a fully equipped kitchen, dining and sitting room that leads onto a very large undercover patio. There are glass stack doors from the sitting room area onto the patio that allows for wonderful natural light to flow in. The patio area has an outdoor dining room table, wicker chairs and is mountain facing with a 180 degree view of nature. There is a splash pool, weber braai, gas skottel braai and a potjie pot. The cottage is solar generated and has a gas geyser, gas stove with oven and gas kettle. There is an electric fridge/freezer and a portable oscillating fan. No hairdryers/irons/microwaves/toasters allowed due to its inverter capacity.

Le Butterfly is a newly built, private, spacious and comfortable cottage (125 sq m). It has a lovely mountain view and is within 200m of the Groot Marico River that runs through the farm. It can accommodate 6 guests. The main bedroom is a private bedroom, with a wall mounted oscillating fan, Queen bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom is also private and has a wall mounted oscillating fan, 2 single beds and en-suite bathroom with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a regular sized fridge/freezer; microwave; toaster; kettle; 4 plate gas stove with oven; crockery; utensils; potjie pot; and portable gas skottel braai. The open plan area has a portable oscillating fan; indoor fireplace; radio with cd/usb function; sitting and dining room with 2 single beds. This area has 2 large glass sliding doors that leads onto the patio, garden and private natural rock splash pool. There is an undercover braai with a patio garden set; outdoor shower (stoute stort) with hot and cold water and a large firepit for those stargazing and bonfire evenings. There is a private walkway down to the river.

Waking up to the sound of the flowing river and brids singing, quickly makes you forget the world you left behind. Rob and Lynnie are outstanding hosts, warm, accommodating, and passionate about making your stay special. Their cabins are homely, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. We love camping and this was perfect. Each camp site has its own private ablution and kitchen area. The hosts Lynnie & Rob are absolute gems and ready to assist with anything you need. No cell signal at the campsite but we went for a nice long walk to catch up with our messages. Big bonus is that they are petfriendly 🩷 We will definately come back again.

We stayed in the Firefly cottage which was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The space felt very private and you really do feel one with nature due to the endless views and the beautiful chatter of birds throughout the day. Then at night you are blessed with an abundance of stars to gaze upon as you sit alongside the braai or boma. There was no cellphone reception at our particular location which suited us perfectly! Nothing like a digital detox to really allow you to unwind and rest. An added bonus is that we were able to bring along our dog who enjoyed the walks around the property and the cool downs in the water. From what we could tell from the other guests staying there, it would also be a lovely place for children. Lynnie and Rob are wonderful hosts who ensured we were well looked after. We were sad to leave after our stay and will definitely be back in the future!

We booked a campsite at Evergreen River Guest Farm but Lynnie and Rob kindly put us up in one of their beautiful cottages because of heavy rain.We were so comfortable! We were sorry we weren't able to use the campsite because it looked really wonderful and has some great facilities. The farm is breathtakingly beautiful and the birdlife is amazing. We recommend Evergreen River Guest Farm to anybody visiting the area. Lynnie and Rob are perfect hosts and lovely people.

It is close to the river and has everything a campsite needs to be comfortable. Plenty of shade and flat ground to pitch tents. Lynne and Rob are fantastic hosts and are willing to help when needed.
